1550 Big Bore & S&S 510 Gear Drive Install
Bored again, thought I'd get the support plate and cams ready.
Into the freezer with the cams, cool them off and contract them for an hour or two.

Into the oven for 5 minutes and heat the bearings up slightly, expand them a bit.
Remember, gear drive cams use two ball bearings '6004 C3' (6004 is the size, C3 the tolerance).
Chain drive cams use one (1) of the above on the front cam and HD's (# 8983) roller bearing on
the rear cam.

I used a socket the same size as the I.D. of the bearings and a rubber mallet to 'tap' the bearings
into position.
Looks weired, but works just fine, use gloves.

Nothing wrong with those.

As you can see.

Now, the cams complete with the bearings installed back into the freezer for well, as long
as you want, 30 minutes or so I'd say.

Get the support plate ready for the oven, take the top plug out or the O-ring would melt.
