I put a set of 04 RK Custom bars on my 03 RK Classic. The old bars were making me reach forward and on long
runs made my back hurt. With these new bars I can sit straight up or even crouch down and lean back! They are soooo
much more comfortable!!! They even make it easier for my stumpy 5' 10'' frame to reach the ground at lights.
I'm reaching for asphalt instead of leaning forward reaching for bars.
Custom bars above, Classic buckhorns below.
I did have to replace the brake line though. Old one just wasn't long enough. I decided to order the stock brake line for an 04 Custom.
Bolted right on and gives the bike that factory look I like right now. Below are the before and after shots from the side.
They show the difference in length of the bars.

After...
The part number for the bars is #55908-04 and they're $100. The brake line is #43374-04 and they're $78.
The clips to hold the wire harness's to the handle bars is 70345-84. Not sure what they cost. 75 cents each?
One word of caution though. Be careful attaching the brake lever assembly to the throttle assembly.
I damaged the brake switch. It was easily repaired but could have been worse.
(Handy tip: Take out the lever pivot and ease out the lever completely before messing with the switch housings. h.h.)
This was the cheapest way I found to get the "Wild 1's Chubby's" look and feel I wanted.
For me it was money well spent....... .
(Need longer wiring? (non-cruise) Dyna switch kit 70190-00. Left side is 35"long and right is 42", plenty left over, just hide it inside the nacelle, :ozone)
